Life saving app
My mom lives by herself and therefor is usually the one giving herself her meds. She has a slight case of deminsia and forgets what prescriptions to take and at what times to take them. Well not with this app it does all the remembering for her! Comes complete with medical and medication reminders and thats exactly what she needs so no more concerns of over or under dosing. I feel secure knowing she has reminders instead of the standard no reminders pill box! Great app keep up the wonderful work.
Amazing medical app
Medica reminder app is much easier than with old pill boxes! This is truly an all in one app that offers pill reminders, and even makes adding medications a breeze! If you have a loved one and you keep track of their meds then this is for you and your peice of mind.
Think outside of the box!
I downloaded, tried to set it up! Then immediately deleted it. I guess it might work if you dont have anything out of the norm. For dose, it would not allow shot as an option. It also gave no option for bi-monthly.... Oops.
Could be better
For me, the interface is confusing. The dashboard is centered not on reminders (the apps stated purpose), nor on prescriptions (as the UI would have you believe), but on physicians. Medications (and their prescriptions) are attached to doctors and its doctors that are shown on the dashboard, with the medications theyve prescribed grouped together. When you open the app, to get to your reminders (again, the apps stated purpose), you must open the sidebar and tap on Medications (huh?); the resulting list shows the medications you will be taking today, grouped by time. So your schedule is under Medications. When creating and editing medications, you cannot reduce the number of doses taken in a day. This is particularly important in Medica, because the app presumes every medication you take will be taken twice a day. You cannot schedule a medication for only once a day. Youll want to turn sound effects off in the settings, because if your iPhones silent switch is on the app will override it and youll get sounds when you dont expect them. I like that you can take a picture of your medication, but taking a picture of patients is flawed because the pictures are darkened and the app doesnt support the FaceTime camera. You can differentiate between missed and skipped doses of scheduled medications, but "as needed" medications cant be marked "taken." You can set a single followup reminder for prescriptions; but reminders to take your meds arent repeated (so you could miss a reminder). I like that prescriptions can be archived; I dont like that you cant print/email/share your medication history/log. Multiple patients (in the full version) is a good feature, as is doctor information. But the "shredder" is just odd.
